The MASCAGE project has been launched!
On March 1, 2019, the MASCAGE project, which explores representations of male old age in post-1989 European literatures and films, was launched at six partner universities: University of Castilla-La Mancha (Spain), University of Galway (Ireland), University of Graz (Austria), Tallinn University (Estonia), Södertörn University (Sweden), and Bar-Ilan University (Israel). The project also involves affiliated partners from the academic and NGO sectors.
MASCAGE will run for three years at the partnering universities. Apart from publishing, the project teams aim to organize academic events and collaborate with the wider public. The project results will be shared with researchers, practitioners, and policy-makers in the EU, hoping to engage directly in policy change and contribute to the improvement of the understanding of age as a process, of intergenerational collaborationn, and of the political, social, economic, and cultural challenges of the ageing continent of Europe.
